UV Anti-fouling

This invention uses an LED to emit UV-C radiation, a mount to direct the radiation toward the optically transparent surface and control circuitry to drive the LED and configure the duty time cycle. LEDs can make the anti-fouling system more efficient, have a longer lifetime, and be more compact than traditional systems.

Background: An improved method using a light source to reduce biofilm bio-fouling and accumulation on optically transparent marine equipment surfaces without manual scrubbing to maintain visual and operational integrity for accurate sensor readings and communications.
